A little baby love:

I just completed a layout for a sketch challenge on My Scraps and More  and wanted to share it.  I can't take credit for the awesome picture because that is the work of my sister, Kimberly Lynn   and the adorable little munchkin is her son, my nephew.  Love, love love him!

First Day of School

Finished my first day of school in my 12th year of teaching (how that is possible I really don't know!)  I had a great day and am looking forward to the upcoming school year.  The only complaint from the day is that my feet hurt from wearing heels because they are used to being in the comfiness of flip-flops.  As a middle school teacher it is always interesting to see the differences in the incoming 7th graders: most are nervous and scared, while there are some that stand out as presenting themselves with an impressive amount of confidence given their new surroundings.  I have to laugh at all of it really.  And as teachers if we don't laugh, we'll drive ourselves crazy in the meantime...so laugh we do.

In the scrappy world I have continued to stay busy working on my layouts for the End of Summer crop at My Scraps and More.  I'll share some layouts:

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

A little hurricane inspiration...

Love this picture of my nephew- he's adorable!
This was so many years ago, but what an amazing time we had at the Mayflower Inn and Spa.

Another old photo, but I am experimenting with my baker's twine.

Love our lake getaways: didn't take as many pics this year so I captured last year's trip instead.

All of these layouts were created for the Goodbye to Summer Crop that I am working on for myscrapsandmore.com
Great challenges, layouts and prizes too! Who can beat it?

Also just finished up my Words to Live by Album for the Big Idea Festival over at bigpictureclasses.com   The idea behind the Words to Live by album is that each day a word was selected by one of the fabulously talented instructors and participants created layouts to demonstrate that word.  So, in no particular order, are the 2011 chosen words:

Cherish:  our two dear friends.

Less:  a list of random things

Give: an important one for all to remember

Wonder: sense of wonder.

Nest

Share: a visit with our Aunt

Enjoy: love this picture of my parents

Play: the picture says it all.

Moment: remember to live in the moment

Free

Embrace: love.

Live

See, I told you I was inspired! I think it's time to venture back upstairs for some more scrappy goodness! Wishing you a safe Sunday.

An end to summer ...

And it is especially sad for me because I am a teacher and it means back to school. However, I am ready. I am ready to meet my new students and ready to get back into the swing of things. And with this sense of rejuvenation, there is no better way to use this than being crafty. So, the My Scraps and More Blog is hosting an end of summer crop. Hop on over and check it out! !

Hoping your Monday is fabulous.

Big Idea Festival: Words to Live By

Big http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifPicture Classes">Well, I'm a little late in the starting of this class, but seeing as I was feeling the urge to be crafty today, I figured I can dedicate some time and try to create a words to live by book for the class. Fun fun! A little extra motivation is all we need sometimes, so I hope to be productive in this creation!

Rainy Summer Day

Well here we are nearing the end of summer, and apparently mother nature feels the need to rain down upon us. I typically don't mind a day of rain, and hopefully this will allow me to get upstairs and tackle some much needed scrapping, but doesn't SHE realize that it is almost time to go back to school and I enjoy soaking up every last bit of sun that I can? Anyway, I am thinking that I will post a few pages from my Disney album....and maybe a few other things that I have been working on. Hoping you are enjoying your soggy Sunday! Or maybe, and hopefully, yours is sunny! Enjoy!
